Andy has great knowledge of his trade. On the first visit he explained the nuisance animal behavior and habits. He set traps and blocking to guide the animal into the trap. His setup was successful the very first night. I had him do exclusion fencing on my outbuildings. His price was fair, the work was done in a professional manner and the property was left in great shape. We now have peace of mind that it's safe to go in the yard and our gardens aren't being chewed down. Highly Recommended!
UPDATE - It's been about 8 months since the work was done on my buildings. I found a spot where a critter tried to dig under my building. The critter failed! The fencing worked exactly as intended and it saved us from another issue. Money well spent! Enjoying the peace of mind. The Critter Guy is still highly recommended.

I highly recommend The Critter Guy if you have a nuisance wildlife problem. Andy clearly knows what he's doing and the pricing is fair. He helped me ensure that the unwelcome raccoon visiting my attic was gone and that she couldn't get back in. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future.

Eleven years ago when I purchased the home, the owner said I never go back there to the shed because of the groundhogs. I knew there were issues. When I purchased another shed to go next to the original one, I realized I needed to take care of the problem. The Critter Guy was here when he said he would be here. He shared information and explained what my issue was, how the animals function, and their habits. He also helped me with a squirrel's nest up in the top of the little shed, and he repaired parts of the shed for me where the animals had been very intrusive. He then fixed around both of the sheds so that the groundhog and or skunks can't get under there. The crew showed up when they said they would. They worked hard for several days and cleaned up everything when they left. They did not leave behind any debris, no cigarette butts and were very courteous of the property. Now when I look out my window every morning I EXHALE I now have a very attractive place at the back of my property and I want to go back there and enjoy it. I highly recommend these folks!!! And the price, extremely reasonable for the amount of work and materials that were put into my project! Thank you

I highly recommend The Critter Guy. We had European starlings nesting in our soffit. They came out quickly and fixed the access point and closed off another possible access point. They are very nice and knowledgeable of our area. I definitely will recommend them to anyone who needs help with critters around their property.

We called at 12:30 am on Sunday morning after returning home from vacation and seeing some animal had been partying in our home. We were unsure if the critter was still in the house or not, but poop was everywhere and a screen door was ripped up. He came and searched and retrieved a groundhog from our guest bedroom. By 4:30 am we were groundhog free and totally happy to pay the emergency service fee. Thank you Critter Guy.

Our Team
The Critter Guy is the oldest family-owned nuisance wildlife business in the Roanoke area. Here are some of the people who will be working with you, should you choose to employ our nuisance wildlife services:
Andy Sizer, Owner
My name is Andy Sizer, and I am the owner and operator of The Critter Guy, Inc. We are the most experienced local family-owned and operated nuisance wildlife company in the Roanoke, VA and New River Valley areas. I am a native of the Roanoke area. It was my lifelong dream to work in the field of nuisance wildlife removal. I started my career on the family farm, protecting farm animals and equipment from all kinds of nuisance wildlife. After ten years of employment with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, I finally decided I wanted to go into business for myself professionally and do what I have always wanted to do. During my employment there and with my other lifelong pursuits, I have become familiar with various residential, commercial, governmental, and rural wildlife conflicts and have many years of experience navigating complex wildlife regulations.
I am very capable of making repairs of animal damage to structures. I have many years of practical working experience in various construction trades, both residential and commercial. I recognize and have many methods to deal with the shortcomings of modern construction and the common modes of degradation of older construction that allows ever-adaptable animals to gain access.
All of these things come together to give you a very knowledgeable and professional nuisance wildlife animal problem solver, dedicated to helping Southwestern Virginia and beyond.
